Music and Family

I interview my mama for this blog.

  1. How did you listen to music? What was the technology like? Technology was not like today.  We listen to music on walkman, or record players.
  2. Have you been to live performances? What was that like? I went to a LL Cool J concert. The music was loud.
  3. What sort of music was listened to in your home? We didn't listen to music unless it was on TV shows.
  4. What did your parents think about the music you liked? We never really listen to music unless it was on Sunday's and we were getting ready for church.
  5. What were some of the first purchases of music when you were younger? I never purchased any music records because I couldn't afford it. I just listen to it on music shows on TV.
  6. Did your musical taste change over time? How so? I still listen to Gospel and R&B music
  7. Did you have any special music at your wedding? The reception? I did not have any special music
  8. Were you involved in music at your church? What was it like? I used to sing in the little Sunbean choir. We would sing songs from the hymn books
  9. As a parent, do you agree or disagree with the kind of music your kids listen to? I agree to some of the music they listen to, but some I don't agree to because of the cursing and lyrics to it.
  10. If you had to describe your life in one song, what would you choose? The song I would use is The Battle Is Not Yours by Yolanda Adams because I know whatever life throw at me God got my back

   11. Do you still listen to the same kind of music you listened to growing up? How is it the same or different? The music I listened to haven't changed because I listen to the same songs from back then. The artists just haven't made any new songs.
12. What sort of music do you listen to now? Why? I listen to gospel because it clears my mind.
13. What kinds of music do you really dislike? I dislike rap music because I do not understand the lyrics.

Comments

  1. It's interesting to see how different people are. As I go through these blogs and look at the responses and compare them to the interview I did, it just shows you the different walks of life people have been through. I really liked the Yolanda Adams song, it was very inspiring! And I totally understand why she doesn't like rap, it wasn't until recently that I started to get more into rap music.

  2. I like the Yolanda Adams song, too. Gospel is always amazing to me--it's born of pain, but it's unbelievably uplifting.
